Support Specialist

Company description

PamGene is a Dutch biotechnology company located in Den Bosch, and it offers instrument sales and research services using a unique 3D microarray platform for kinase activity analysis. PamGene’s technology is used in a broad range of applications within discovery research for biotechnology companies, and in clinical research for hospital. PamGene’s approach gives insights into disease development and to help predict clinical response to oncology therapy. Recently PamGene has developed diagnostic biomarkers to predict therapy response in patients.

We are looking for…

An enthusiastic and experienced lab professional with technical affinity. You are responsible for both development and maintenance of the instruments. In this role you will support and train research scientists and you will perform experiments in the lab environment.

At PamGene, you will play an important role in transferring your unique knowledge by leading researchers across Europe and North America. You participate in the installation of our instruments, and the training of research groups. In addition, you will contribute in the success of the research project by supporting the researchers with first line interactive support!

As Support specialist you will be a key member of the PamGene marketing and sales team and report to the VP-sales.  

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Installation of new PamStation12 platforms and training of its users.
  • Coordination of PamGene’s educational programs (wet lab related).
  • Trouble shooting and customer support.
  • Occasional maintenance or repair of PamGene’s platforms.
  • Responsive to customer’s needs, as well as to the conditions and trends that affect them

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or a related discipline;
  • You have at least 2 years lab-based and applied experience in basic molecular work;
  • experience in biotechnology or industry is a plus;
  • Working knowledge of oncology, proteomics, cell signaling;
  • A technical interest/hobby;
  • Well-developed social skills; in order to be able to communicate to customers on all levels;
  • Commercial affinity and interest;
  • Quality-minded, flexible and practical approach to situations;
  • Analytical mindset;
  • Initiative and ‘hands on’ attitude;
  • Being able to work independent and as part of a team;
  • Willingness to travel;

Together with the Manufacturing team members, you will play a key role in producing microarray chips for research as well diagnostic purposes at PamGene.We are looking for a pro-active individual who is accurate and pragmatic. You will be responsible for the daily production of the microarray chips in the cleanroom. In addition you are also responsible for performing quality controls.

Job requirements

  • At least MBO-4 degree or equivalent in life science e.g. in biology, chemistry, process engineering
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch
  • Alert for deviation or non-conformance in process and product,
  • Good quality awareness
  • Has good interpersonal skills, able to work within a team to achieve common goals

Job description

Within the BioChip Manufacturing department, we have an opportunity for a Supervisor Manufacturing.  Together with the Manufacturing team members, you will play a key role in producing microarray chips for research as well diagnostic purposes. As a Supervisor Manufacturing, you are responsible for the daily production of the microarray chips and the involved Quality Control steps. Next to the daily production tasks, you are also responsible for the weekly and monthly production planning. You coach the production team members, monitor the progress and together with the team members ensure that the planning is achieved.  

The suitable candidate is capable of: 

  • Leading, guiding, motivating and developing team members
  • Planning the work and resources efficiently
  • Identifying and solving deviations or non-conformity in the processes and/ or products
  • Operating and maintaining various laboratory equipment
  • Understanding and mastering the different production processes after a short training

And have the following qualifications:  

  • At least completed college degree (in the Netherlands ‘MBO-4’) or equivalent in life science e.g. in biology, chemistry, process engineering
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a team leader or supervisor in biotech or food industries
  • A proven track of “leadership by coaching”
  • Proactive, accurate and pragmatic
  • Result oriented and quality driven
  • Flexible
  • Good command of Dutch and English
  • Good computer skills, such as MS Excel and Word
